Almost 34 years ago, the Government of India in accordance with its National Policy on Education (1986), started Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) to provide quality modern education to the talented children predominantly from rural areas (75% minimum) which were otherwise deprived from such education as compared to their urban and rich peers. In Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) students not only enjoys quality education but their all-round personality development also takes place through various co-curricular activities. As long as a student remains in JNV, they enjoy every facility at par with their peers in private and convent schools but once a student leaves JNV after 10th or 12th class then the real struggle starts for them. The Navodaya students who were bright and brilliant in their field in JNV, loses their talent in absence of a platform to guide and to support them, and being from rural and economically poor background it becomes their greatest agony after leaving Navodaya Vidyalaya. Thus, it was a felt need to establish an organization to serve all such needs of talented but poor alumni/ students of JNVs. Hence, a national level organization to take care of such rural talent was need on hour and JNV Foundation is one such name working for the welfare of students and alumni of JNVs. We are the only organization registered at national level with such inclusive and defined aims and objectives and as on date who has proper infrastructure, office, resources, working team with defined roles and responsibilities and is working without having financial inclusions from any outsider (who is not member of JNV Foundation but we encourage public to donate and make cashless donations). Also, we do not charge anything in lieu of our services for the welfare of rural and talented guys and gals of JNVs across India. We aim that no talent goes waste due to the lack of resources. A group of 72 (founder) members across the 9 states of India started this mission to help JNVinas and formed “JNV Foundation” in 2014.
